History of Berean Christian Academy

“They desired to bring up their children in an environment that did not simply speak of their Christian faith but lived it.”

Berean Christian Academy began with a group of like-minded families that desired to give their children the best that academics can offer without crushing the mind and the spirit of the student through intellectualism and elitism. They desired to bring up their children in an environment that did not simply speak of their Christian faith but lived it. These families agreed that it should be Mrs. Shivel that would lead the charge in beginning a new school in Post Falls that would serve other like-minded families. While Berean Christian Academy would not be considered a traditional Classical Academy, its teachers follow the Classical Methodology and Pedagogy. This being said, our curriculum has been chosen based on the high expectations of what students are capable of learning through proper instruction. Just as God has uniquely designed every child, we believe that education can be uniquely designed to meet the needs and characteristics of every child. No child is the same and education should never presuppose this by instructing every child in the same way. By the use of multi-grade learning environments, our teachers have the opportunity to offer our students what they would not necessarily receive anywhere else. Growing and learning together is one of our mottos at BCA and we look forward to meeting you and seeing how you will fit into our community also!
